Your Team

Maiorano & Associates Inc. began in 2002 under its founder and namesake, Serafino Maiorano. His achievements and personal growth at his previous tax preparations office made it apparent that he needed to start his own firm where he could focus more on his clients’ diversity of needs and offer a more “hands-on” approach toward providing personal and professional financial service.

Serafino Maiorano

CEO, Founder, Financial Planner & Tax Consultant

Serafino has been in the financial industry for 30 years. After graduating from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting, he became a tax and financial planning advisor with Gilman & Ciocia, Inc. in 1987. Serafino excelled and quickly rose in the company and became a senior partner. His success there led him to establish Maiorano & Associates 15 years later. Although he is the CEO, Serafino’s most prominent role is as a tax specialist and financial planner. He works closely with his clients to prepare for their impending retirements and helps younger clients plan to fulfill their financial goals. Serafino is a full-service financial planner and retirement specialist. He sees his clients as family and treats them accordingly. Serafino has other planners that he actively trains to excel in the field. Under his leadership, Maiorano & Associates has provided financial advice for many successful executives, affluent individuals, business owners, professional athletes and entertainers, as well as corporate clients ranging from small firms to global businesses. Away from work, Serafino is proud to serve as chairperson for the Knights of Columbus.

Joseph Maiorano

President, Chief Financial Officer- joe.maiorano@fino411.com

Joseph has been in the income tax planning and financial services field for nearly two decades. A graduate of St. John’s University, he currently holds his Series 7 & 63 registrations in addition to his New York State Health and Life license. Along with other members of his family, Joseph has been serving clients from the tri-state area his entire career with an emphasis on the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island. He is also one of the company’s primary training officers who have been helping both representatives and clients successfully reach their goals through the process of personal coaching.

William “Bill” Hellmers

Bill has been with Maiorano & Associates, Inc. since its inception and in the financial industry for 30 years. His career started in the brokerage industry in 1984 with Shearson American Express. Bill went on to manage one of New York state’s first bank investment programs at First Nationwide Bank, then instituted and oversaw the investment program at Republic National Bank of New York. He joined Gilman & Ciocia, Inc. as senior regional vice president of East Coast operations, where he first met Serafino Maiorano. As chief compliance officer, Bill ensures all financial transactions are compliant with the regulatory agencies. A graduate of SUNY Oneonta, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting, Bill spends his spare time working with various charities and sailing the Long Island Sound. He is a board member and vice commodore of Knickerbocker Sailing Association and devotes time to God’s Love We Deliver, a charitable organization that delivers food to those in need.

John Bolobanic

After graduating with his degree in accounting, John became VITA Certified with the IRS and began assisting low-income and elderly individuals with tax return preparation and counseling. He excelled quickly and simultaneously began his own home-based tax preparation business. Three years later, John became an associate of Maiorano & Associates, Inc. and a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and State Licensed Registered Representative with Royal Alliance Associates. For the past 13 years, he has dedicated his business to helping small businesses and individuals identify, facilitate and achieve their financial goals as well as constantly re-educated himself and his team on current tax laws and mindfulness training. John enjoys spending time with his wife, 5-year-old son and extended family and being outdoors fishing, snowboarding and hiking. Besides being the treasurer on the Board For Cypress Crest Condo III in his community, John is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Business Networking International, Financial Services Institute and Academy of Preferred Financial Advisors.

Matt Reichert

After graduating from St. Francis College with a degree in Business Management, Matt completed his tax preparer certification and prepared taxes for several years with Pinnacle Tax Advisors. In 2005 he became an associate with Maiorano & Associates, Inc. and a Registered Investment Advisor and State Licensed Registered Representative with Osaic Wealth Inc. For the past 14 years, Matt has dedicated his business to helping small businesses and individuals identify, facilitate and achieve their financial goals as well as constantly re-educated himself and his team on current tax laws and mindfulness training. He lives in Staten Island and enjoys spending his time with his wife and his extended family and being outdoors fishing, skiing, swimming and playing hockey. Matt is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Business Networking International, Financial Services Institute and Academy of Preferred Financial Advisors.
